Former Karachi Mayor says that party not meant to snatch place of any other political party
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former Karachi Mayor and leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Mustafa Kamal named his newly formed political party as ‘Pak Sar Zameen Party, reported Dunya News.
Kamal made this announcement during an event held in Karachi on Pakistan Day (March 23) which involved a large number of Kamal’s followers and party leaders as well.
While addressing the event, Kamal stated that his party is neither meant to take place of any other political party in the country nor to ascertain its authority over Karachi, he added that he and Qaimkhani returned to Pakistan for the betterment of the youth of the country and for reconciliation.
Kamal said that he and his party members are not here to earn privileges for themselves. He stated that he and those who stand with him today left their status of authority as they believed that they were not serving the people in the right manner.
Kamal “cursed” all designations and the power achieved through such designations which becomes hindrance towards serving the people. Former Karachi mayor said that people are aware of the performances put forth by him and his party members whilst they were in power.
“We have been divided on the basis of race, language and political affiliations. But now this has to stop.” Kamal said.
While discussing about the party’s flag, Kamal said that no particular flag has been made for the society as all flags of varying colours lead to disorder. He said that the Election Commission might have reservations upon this decision but “we will not introduce a flag for the party”, he added and that “who will stop us from putting the Pakistani flag on our chests?”
Kamal said that the party s first ever procession will be held at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Karachi, on April 24.
