DHA scandal: Waseem Aslam records statement to NAB

Aslam has laid all the blame on former Army Chief's brother Brigadier (Retd) Amjad Pervaiz Kayani.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In the latest turn of events, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wasem Aslam Butt on Wednesday recorded his statement in Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) land scam case to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). Aslam was the CEO in a company of former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani’s brother.

According to the details, CEO Aslam has kept pleading his innocence in the case. Instead, Aslam has laid all the blame on former Army Chief’s brother Brigadier (Retd) Amjad Pervaiz Kayani. NAB has decided to summon Amjad Kayani again after Aslam’s statements.

According to NAB sources, Aslam in his statement during physical remand has stated that Rs. 6 billion had been transferred to the company’s joint account in Dubai Islamic Bank, most of which was withdrawn from the account on Amjad Kayani’s signatures.

The CEO has further stated that he had parted ways with former Army Chief’s borther Kamran Kayani’s company Elysium Holding back in 2012 and had given 10% of his shares.
