Qadir Baloch expresses reservations over delay in implementation of Murree deal

Abdul Qadir Baloch eyed peaceful Balochistan till the completion of incumbent government's tenure.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch on Monday complained that no implementation has been made in Murree agreement and change of Balochistan’s Chief Minister (CM) so far.

While talking to media after attending a ceremony being held in Quetta by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees(UNHCR) over disable persons, he said that the candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are hopeful over the implementation f Murree agreement. He said that critical situation for PML-N can be observed if the authorities fail to act on the agreement.

Abdul Qadir Baloch applauded the efforts of coalition government in Balochistan for its development projects in past two and a half years as the residents are satisfied with the work done by the administration.

He further eyed peaceful Balochistan till the completion of incumbent government’s tenure.

Responding to a question, Qadir Baloch stated that the country has faced loss of Rs 100 billion because of Mahajirs issue.

Moreover, he thanked UNHCR for arranging an event for persons with disabilities and urged the local administration to gear up work for their welfare and easy life in the society. He assured that foolproof security would be provided to the donors by utilizing all the resources.

Earlier, the deadline of Murree deal, under which Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch has to step down halfway through his five-year constitutional term to allow a PML-N nominee to head the provincial government, had expired on Friday but he is still holding the office.

The deal was signed by the three provincial coalition partners including PML-N, National Party (NP) and Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) under which Dr Abdul Malik of the National Party was to be replaced by Sardar Sanaullah Zehri or Changez Marri of the PML-N halfway through his tenure.
