Pakistan Army's Cambrian Exercise Patrol winner team meets COAS

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, on Wednesday met Pakistan Army’s team that won gold medal at Cambrian Exercise Patrol in Britain. COAS appreciated the team’s effort and congratulated them on the great success, reported Dunya News.

The prestigious Cambrian Patrol Exercise started from 15 of October and ended on 25th of October. The army teams from as much as 120 countries, including India, participated in the competition. Pakistani team shared the first position with Royal New Zealand Army and won gold medal while Indian army took second position, winning silver.

Earlier, Army Chief headed the Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi on Monday. The military leadership of the country discussed the professional military matters and the internal and external security situation of the country.

The conference also examined the progress in Operation Zarb-e-Azb. Army chief’s upcoming visit to the United States (US) was also discussed during the meeting. National Action Plan (NAP) and FATA reforms were also brought into discussion during the meeting.

Appreciating the accomplishments in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, army chief said that the army enjoys complete support of the nation against terrorism. He said that good governance is necessary for better results. He added that long-term measures will have to be taken for complete peace in the country.

The inconclusive investigations by Joint Investigation Teams (JIT) are affecting the operation, he said. He also informed the corps commanders about his Saudi Arabia visit. He also directed ensuring the rehabilitation of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDP).
