LHC summons reply from Punjab govt for issuance of funds after LB polls schedule
The ECP was approached in the matter but no action was taken, says counsel for petitioner
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday has sought reply from Punjab government for issuing development projects’ funds after announcement of local body (LB) schedule.
Justice Ijazul Hassan held hearing of the case.
Counsel for petitioner said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued schedule of LB elections in Punjab but the government is still issuing funds. He said that the provincial government is violating election code of conduct.
He further said that the ECP was approached in the matter but no action was taken.
The LHC has ordered the government and the ECP to file replies in the matter.
