Sindh Assembly lashes out at MQM over power outages
MPAs also criticized Abid Sher Ali for not taking steps timely.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The participating MPAs during Sindh Assembly’s session denounced the provincial government for not ensuring steps to halt prolonged power outages in Karachi, Dunya News reported on Monday.
The government officials argued and demanded an FIR against K-Electric for its negligence in eliminating the crisis whereas on the other hand, opponent leader Khurrum Sher Zaman stated that government has equal hand in making the power crisis violent.
During the session, Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan said that Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Federal Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali have failed to overcome the energy crisis.
He further alleged leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and K-Electric of deaths in Karachi.
Javed Nagori said that privatization of K-Electric was due to MQM, on which MQM workers staged a protest inside Sindh assembly.
Meanwhile, a talk on the issue of turning off the AC of the House also erupted.
