SC directs federation to submit reply in national language conundrum case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday has directed the officials of federal government to submit their reply in a case pertaining to ranked Urdu as national language, Dunya News reported.
A three-member bench, headed by Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, heard the case during which the court stated that the article 251 of constitution is not optional and should be implemented as per constitution.
Deputy Attorney General told the court that no one is ready to take the responsibility of delaying court’s order over giving the status of national language to Urdu, on which Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja raged over government’s inefficient behavior and stated that SC knows how to do justice and that the victims have to just follow the orders of the court.
He said that the administration is forcing the court to summon Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif into the matter.
On this occasion, Justice Gulzar urged the federation to act upon the court’s verdict whereas on the other hand, Justic Sheikh Azmat added that the government might have amended article 251.
Subsequently, the court has adjourned the hearing until Wednesday.
