MQM chief says his statement about RAW's assistance was just satirical, didn't really mean it

LONDON: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has on Friday tendered unconditional apology for his statement about army and demanding assistance from Indian intelligence agency RAW, saying that his demand from RAW to assist MQM was just ‘satire’, reported Dunya News.

In a statement issued from London, MQM chief has said that he has always respected Pakistan army and will continue to do so. “If my statements have hurt the sentiments of the national security forces, I apologize”, he said. He said that he never meant to ask assistance from RAW.

Altaf Hussain further said that it was natural for a person to feel dejected after being accused of treason time and again. “Pakistan is our country and we will live and die in Pakistan. ‘Mahajirs’ have no affiliation with any part of the world other than Pakistan”, he said.

MQM chief said that he never meant to ridicule any organ of the state or the government. He said that his speech was misunderstood. He also urged the people to stop suspecting Mahajirs’s patriotism. “Our ancestors paid tribute of 2 million lives for the establishment of Pakistan”, he said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Altaf Hussain had bitterly criticized the national security institutions last night while addressing MQM workers from London.
