Altaf Hussain condemns Rangers' raid on Nine-Zero, sister's residence

'If anything happens to his ill sister all the responsibility would rest on Rangers', he stated.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain on Wednesday condemned the raid of Rangers on Nine-Zero headquarters and the residence of his widow sister Saira Aslam, Dunya News reported.

“If anything happens to his ill widow sister then all the responsibility would rest on Rangers”, he stated.

Altaf Hussain termed the raid as a brutal act done by security forces and advised party workers to remain calm. He said that vandalism was carried out at the residency of his elder sister Saira Aslam in the name of search operation.

A large number of MQM workers have started arriving at the Nine-Zero headquarters to recored their protest.

MQM has demanded Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif to take immediate notice of the siege and search operation and arrests of the party members at Nine-Zero by the Pakistan Rangers.

Earlier, a heavy contingent of Rangers personnel have arrested several suspects during raid on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain`s residence and Khursheed Begum Secretariat in Azizabad area of the metropolis.

The raid was conducted on a tip-off regarding presence of suspected criminals at 5:00am (PST) on Wednesday

According to details, the party has urged the transporters and traders to suspend their activities whereas educational institutions and private schools have also faced a shut down across Sindh postponing the examinations and educational process in Jamia Karachi and Federal Urdu University.
