Court asked Ministry of Petroleum and SNGPL to submit their response till Dec 9.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered to halt the suspension of disconnection of gas supply to the CNG stations. The court has also asked Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to submit their response till December 9.
Justice Athar Minallah of IHC heard the petition submitted by more than 300 CNG station owners. Lawyer of the petitioners Makhdoom Ali Khan maintained that the government sidelined CNG sector in its priority list whereas changes in the priority list are a violation of court orders.
Suspension of gas to the CNG sector is violation of human rights, he added.
Court issued notices to SNGPL and Ministry of Petroleum and ordered to shun the stoppage of gas supply and advised to submit reply by December 9.
