Fazal-e-Haq Abbasi of Asma Jehangir's group becomes President SCBA
This is fifth consecutive year that Asma Jehangir's Progressive group has won SCBA election
LAHORE: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Fazal-e-Haq Abbasi of Asma Jehangir’s Independent Group has won Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election today (Friday), Dunya News reported. Senior lawyer Fazal-e-Haq secured 467 votes while his rival Abdul Sattar Khan from Hamid Khan-led Professional Group got 395 votes.
The polling started today at 0830 and ended at 1700 while there was a break observed from 1300 to 1400 PST.
This is fifth consecutive victory of Asma Jehangir-led Independent Group. Fazal-e-Haq has won the election according to the results compiled from all the bars and will preside over Supreme Court Bar Association for one year 2014 to 2015.
