Border mechanism with Iran is being improved to avoid misunderstanding, says Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that Pak-Iran gas pipeline project has not been abandoned. He informed that Pakistan and Iran are improving their border mechanism to avoid misunderstandings in future. “Pakistan will not allow its soild to be used against anyone”, said Sartaj Aziz.

Addressing the tri-nation conference in Islamabad today (Monday), Sartaj Aziz said that Afghanistan cannot afford a proxy war anymore. He said that Pakistan is against foreign interference in Afghanistan. “Hope of peace has been renewed after new government has taken over in Afghanistan”, he said.

Sartaj Aziz said that Pakistan and China want a stable Afghanistan. He said that border issues keep popping up between Pakistan and Iran because some areas on the border are fragile where criminals and smugglers operate, however, all the matters will be resolved through negotiations.
