Imran slams foreign trips of PM Nawaz
PTI chief says half of the population lives below the poverty line but rulers live like kings.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that Pakistan remains sixth on the poverty index in the world and tops in the world in hunger-related diseases.
Talking to media here on Friday, the PTI chief said the common man was hit by extreme poverty whereas their rulers wealth was increasing day by day. He said Rs 5 million is spent as monthly expenditure at the Prime Minister’s House.
Citing example of China, Imran Khan said that China improved condition of the population living below the poverty line in a record period. He said China focused small farmers to end poverty from the country.
Imran Khan said that our rulers were spending more on their foreign tours than the annual expenditure of the British government.
The PTI chief said that rulers assets before coming in to power and their present property exposes the real difference among the masses and the elite.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) will hold public rally in Bahawalpur on Friday evening (today) against the alleged rigging in general election of May 11, 2013.
Imran Khan and other key leaders of the party will address the rally where the PTI chief is expected to give final deadline to the government for acceptance of demands vote count in 4 constituencies.
About 20,000 chairs have been placed at the venue and extensive arrangements have been done for the parking of vehicles coming from various cities.
An 18 ft high stage has been prepared for the leaders to deliver their speeches, along with five walk through gates to ensure the security of the participants.
General Bus Stand, Farid Gate University Chowk and Police Line Road have closed for public traffic. About 2100 policemen will guard the venue to guard the fourth PTI rally being staged to protest alleged rigging in the May 2013 general elections.
Imran Khan is also expected to announce the next phase of the PTI protest drive. Imran has all the options open including en-block resignation form assemblies.
