The anti-Taliban conference alleged that Jamaat Islami and Taliban are two sides of the same coin.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The anti-Taliban ‘all parties conference’ led by Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Rasalat Mahaz said on Wednesday that Taliban are ‘number one’ enemy of the state, urging the government to immediately initiate military operation after ceasing all talks. The conference also demanded supporting Taliban be declared grave crime.
Briefing the media after the conference, Sahibzada Hamid Raza said that all peaceful and patriot segments should unite against the enemy of the state Taliban. The joint statement issued by the likeminded parties said that a countrywide ‘go Taliban go’ movement will be launched and that February 28, Friday will be observed as ‘anti-Taliban day’.
The joint statement demanded of the government to take action against Taliban supporting groups and those who don’t obey the constitution should be brought to justice and the arrested suspects be tried and punished immediately. The statement urged a continued army operation until the last terrorist is taken out.
The joint statement also seeks to curb internal and external funding sources of Taliban and to confront the countries who are involved in militancy in Pakistan.
The statement also alleged that Jamaat Islami and Taliban are two sides of the same coin.
Peace talks between the Taliban and the government, announced on January 29, stalled last week due to a recent surge in insurgent attacks and subsequent claims by a Taliban including a faction claiming that it had killed 23 kidnapped soldiers.
Following the operation, government had assured to keep the negotiation option still on the table.
