Sindh CNG association, transporters end strike
The six-hour long strike ended after successful talks with the government.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - The Sindh CNG Association and Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) ended their strike after assurance by the Federal Government to address their demands.
Subsequently, CNG stations across the province have reopened and public transport was back on the roads.
According to APCNGA Sindh Chairman Shabir Suleman, Federal Minister for Petroleum and Gas contacted Ghayas Piracha, Chairman of All Pakistan CNG Association, and assured him that government would address all the reservations.
The minister also briefed Piracha that new schedule of CNG closure will be finalised after consultation with the CNG association.
A meeting with the Ministry of Petroleum and Gas would also take place on Monday, the APCNGA leader said.
The strike was announced against suspension of gas supply for more than three days.
The CNG station owners and transporters were of the view that officials of Sui Southern Gas had an agreement that gas will be supplied three days a week, however, the agreement was violated and gas cuts continued for four days a week.
