The Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief says Jamaat-e-Islami has links with Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

LONDON/ KARACHI (Dunya News) - Mutahida Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain has demanded complete ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Jamiat-e-Talba.

Addressing the MQM workers via telephone from London, Altaf Hussain blamed that the workers of Jamaat-e-Islami were involved in the killing of Pakistan Army personnel. He said that no law enforcement agency arrests JI workers despite their involvement in several crimes.

Altaf Hussain said neither Muhajirs demanded separate homeland nor would they demand in future. He said that Mutahida Qaumi Movement should not be labeled as anti-Pakistan as Muhajirs are peace loving people and believe in patience.

“Our forefathers made Pakistan and we want to save Pakistan, Altaf Hussain said”.

He said even army would be unable to control the situation if MQM workers lost their patience.

Altaf Hussain said that MQM workers were being arrested during the targeted operation while the terrorists were moving free.

He said that several MQM workers were missing while thousands of others were unable to stay at their homes due to operation.

Altaf Hussain urged the government and the law enforcement agencies to end unnecessary action against MQM workers. The MQM chief said he would never ask to release those who were involved in any crime.

Altaf Hussain said police and Rangers would be unable to control if MQM lost their patience. He said that the government was not paying proper attention to any issue and it seemed that the government had no interest in the affairs of the country.

The MQM chief said that killing each other was being taught in Pakistan and blood was being shed in the name of sects.

Altaf Hussain appealed to the masses to avoid these extremes and try to understand the conspiracies being hatched against Pakistan.

He said that media was giving undue coverage to Taliban while the coverage should be given on the basis of party representation.

Talking to Dunya News, Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch rejected Altaf Hussain’s allegations against his party. He said that Altaf Hussain, who himself was based in London, was often busy in issuing undemocratic and non-serious statements.
