President signs Fair Trial Bill
President Wednesday signed Fair Trial Trade Organizations bills.
ISLAMABAD (Online): President Asif Ali Zardari has signed the Fair Trial Bill 2012.
The Bill has already been passed by both the Houses of Parliament.
The Fair Trial Bill authorizes the state to intercept private communications in order to catch terrorists. The bill became controversial because certain quarters felt it would pose a threat to people’s privacy and civil liberties.
The President also signed Trade Organizations Bill 2012 providing for the registration and regulation of trade organizations.
