Long marches to be held in every city: Qadri

Says government had not fulfilled the promise of dissolving the assemblies as per agreement.

 

LAHORE: Addressing a press conference in Lahore Doctor Tahirul Qadri said Islamabad Long March was only a beginning, and now Awami Tehrik would hold long marches in every city of Pakistan.


He said he was in favour of democracy but not the democracy of the plunderers; adding people of Pakistan will not allow thieves to come to power in the name of democracy.


“Elections will be held to save Pakistan, not to break it,” he said.


About the formation of new provinces he said he was in favour of the South Punjab Province but decision in this regard must be taken after knowing the wishes of the people through referendum.


“No one will be allowed to announce new provinces only for political gains,” Qadri said.


Regarding the participation in the general elections, he said Awami Tehrik central committee had given him the mandate, and he would take a decision after deliberation with the party leaders.
