LAHORE (Dunya News) – A foolproof security plan has been devised for third and final Twenty20 International (T20I) between Pakistan and Sri Lanka scheduled at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on October 29.

It has been decided to hand over the security of Sri Lanka team to Pakistan Army and Rangers, and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is thinking to bring the Islanders to Lahore via an aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) instead of private airline.

Furthermore, if the players are brought through private flight then it will be ensured that no famous personality is onboard with the team to avoid unwanted crowd at the airport.

Special force commandos will be appointed on duty owing to threats of banned outfits, whereas, commandos of Airports Security Force (ASF), civil aviation and top military leadership will be on high alert before team’s arrival.

Police and Rangers have been directed to conduct search operations in the areas adjacent to players’ hotel and the stadium. It has further been learnt that the hosts will be taken to the stadium in a helicopter, and the proposal to install mobile jammers in the radius of one kilometer around the stadium is also under consideration.

Extra lights are being installed on the team’s routes, and deputy airport operation as well as station managers of planes have been directed to remain on duty when the Islanders arrive. Moreover, no worker on the runway will be allowed to keep mobile phone, and CNG vehicles will be banned from entering the airport premises.

Sources have also revealed that the particulars of police officers who will be appointed on duty have been sent to army, and 25 officers will undergo lie detector tests. It has also been ordered to conduct secret investigation against them.

Authorities are considering to directly take the Sri Lanka team to old airport from the stadium through helicopter after the competition of the match as the intelligence agencies have reported to pay special attention on security after the match owing to the presence of suicide bombers in the city.

It has also been reported that bullet-proof and bomb-proof vehicles can also be used for top PCB and political officials if required. The players’ luggage will be shifted to Pakistan 12 hours before their arrival.
