Three T20s will be played in Lahore in an attempt to bring international cricket back to Pakistan

(Web Desk) – International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed on Saturday the World XI will tour Pakistan for three T20s in Lahore in coming September.

The cricket body promised to support the efforts to bring international cricket back to Pakistan. All three T20 games will be in accordance with the international status. The ICC Champions Trophy 2017 triumphant captain Sarfraz Ahmed will lead his side in the shortest format and it will be interesting to see how the crowd welcomes foreign cricketers.

Earlier this year, the final match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) was played at Lahore s Gaddafi Stadium in which multiple foreign cricketers took part, including Dawid Malan, Marlon Samuels, Darren Sammy, Chris Jordan, Morne van Wyk, Sean Ervine and others.

Peshawar Zalmi, led by skipper Darren Sammy, had defeated Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs and lifted the trophy of PSL 2017. The return of international cricket for the green shirts at home remains reluctant after 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team. 12 terrorists had opened fire on the visitor s bus and injured six of their players.

Pakistan had managed to arrange a home series with Zimbabwe in 2015. All five ODIs were won by the home side.
