Pakistan has also dropped down in T20 rankings to 5th point

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan has dropped to an all time low ranking of 9th position after a poor show in Bangladesh One Day International (ODI) series. Pakistan’s participation in Champions Trophy has become unlikely as a result, reported Dunya News.

According to the annual update of rankings released by International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan has plummeted down the ranking list.

Pakistan’s early exit from quarterfinals in World Cup and recent defeat to Bangladesh means that Pakistan has slipped to an all time low number 9 in the ranking list.

However, the new ranking for the national cricket team means that if it does not improve its standing till next year, it may not be able to play Champions Trophy which will be hosted in London.

It should be noted here that only top 8 teams qualify for the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan will have the opportunity to better its standing in the ranking table as the national team will tour Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka before September.

According to ICC rankings, West Indies and Bangladesh are on 7th and 8th position respectively with 88 points while Pakistan is on 9th spot with 87 points.

In another development, Pakistan has also dropped down in T20 rankings to the 5th place.

The T20 ranking list is dominated by Sri Lanka, India and Australia respectively.
