Currency market shaken by Senate's resolution to scrap Rs5000 notes

Dollar is being traded above Rs108 in open market.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s currency market has been shaken by resolution adopted by Senate seeking withdrawal of high denomination Rs5000 currency notes.

Chairman Exchange Companies Association told that currently dollar is being traded above Rs108 in open market.

He further revealed that currency business has been reduced to half and public is showing more interest in purchase of gold and dollar following senate’s move.
