A special meeting of National Security Committee was held headed by Barack Obama in which American troops’ withdrawal from Afghanistan was discussed. According to media reports, Obama termed withdrawal of mere 5000 American troops from Afghanistan as futile and meaningless.According to New York Times, Obama has made it clear that a large number of troops would be withdrawn from war-torn Afghanistan but its announcement would be made after the recommendations of Gen Petreas.
