India: Countrywide strike against increase in petroleum prices
A major countrywide strike will be held tomorrow in India against the increase in petroleum prices.The price of petrol has risen up to 53 rupees per liter after a 5% increase was approved by the Indian Parliament, which was protested by the opposition parties but the government is determined on not rolling back the fuel price. Opposition leader L K Advani has said that inflation will reach sky-high due to this increase in petroleum prices. Rallies will also be taken out tomorrow as a part of this strike and L K Advani will chair the rally in New Delhi.
