'Worlds security linked to Pakistan, Afghanistans security'
Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are among the top-most challenges that the United (US) faces, says US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In her address at the Brookings Institution Washington, Secretary Clinton told US was fully focusing on these challenges. She maintained President Obama considered UN as an important institute to resolve the issues. We are focussing intensively on urgent challenges like Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Secretary Clinton said. Our agenda is ambitious, she told the audience. The secretary said she and President Obama would attend several meetings related to Afghanistan and Pakistan during the General Assembly. Our core goal is to disrupt, dismantle, and ultimately defeat Al Qaeda and its extremist allies, and to prevent their return to either country, she said. This is a goal we share with Afghanistan, with Pakistan, and with the international community. She noted that pursuing Al Qaeda and the Taliban was the basis of the original UN resolutions that authorised US military action after the September 11 attacks. She believed that the security of entire world was linked to the security and betterment of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
