Hong Kong: Apple's iPhone 4S goes on sale

The iPhone 4S went on sale in Hong Kong, after Apple fans queued for days.

After days of camping outside, thousands of Apple fans and resellers finally got their hands on the much-awaited iPhone 4S at Hong Kongs flagship Apple store on Friday.The iPhone 4S launched in Hong Kong on Friday at 7:00 am (2300 GMT on November 10), in the latest phase of its rollout which will also see it debut in South Korea and 13 other countries.Although more than 3,000 fans turned out, Apple was only allowing 1,250 to stand in line.Local media reported that many of those queuing up were buying the iPhone in order to re-sell it to someone else.Local reports said people queuing on behalf of others could earn as much as HKD500 ($64.5 USD) per day.Customers were allowed to buy up to five handsets each and people were seem re-selling them right outside the Apple store.Apple said more than four million iPhone 4S have been sold since its world debut in markets including Germany, Britain, France, Japan and Australia on October 14.
