Heres an advice, dont sit around the whole day, whether you are watching TV at home or slogging in office, for a new study says that it could raise your risk of developing cancer.Researchers have found a strong connection between inactivity and unregulated cell growth, which they say could finally raise a persons risk of developing breast and colon cancer, the Daily Mail reported.The researchers say that 92,000 cases a year of breast and colon cancer can be attributed to lack of exercise and are now urging people to get fit, interdepersing every hour of sitting with one to two minutes of activity.An assessment of post-menopausal women confirmed that taking brisk daily walks helps to reduce several key biological indicators of cancer risk, including sex hormone levels, insulin resistance, inflammation and body fatness.Lead researcher Christine Friedenreich of Alberta Health Services Cancer Care in Canada said: In breast and colon cancers, for example, were seeing overall risk reductions of about 25 to 30 per cent associated with higher levels of physical activity.These numbers are powerful. The bottom line: For many of the most common cancers, it seems like something as simple as a brisk walk for 30 mins a day can help reduce cancer risk.The findings have been published in the latest edition of the Cancer Prevention Research journal.
