Test Series: Day 3, Pakistan strikes back, needs 139 runs to win

With seven wickets in hand, Pakistan needs 139 runs to win the first of two test matches.

In the first inning West Indies score 226 while Pakistan scored 160 runs. In the second innings the West Indies scored 152 runs while Pakistan are 80/3 and need 139 runs to win the match. West Indies were 34/2 at the start of the third day but Pakistani spinners stuck back and bowled the West Indies out for 152. Shivnarine Chanderpaul was the highest scorer with 36 runs while Lendl Devendra Bishoo scored 27 and Simmons scored 21. Pakistani spinner, Saeed Ajmal was the danger man as he alone took six wickets in the second innings. He has taken a total of 11 wickets in the first test match. West Indies already had a 66 run lead over Pakistan and after the second innings, West Indies gave Pakistan a target of 219 runs. Pakistan was again off to a bumpy start as they scored two runs at the loss of three wickets. The green shirts then gained momentum as Asad Shafiq and Misbah ulhaq scored 40 and 34 runs respectively. Pakistan concluded their innings at 80 runs at the loss of three wickets at the end of the third day in the first test match.
