World Cup 2011: Jayawardene under match fixing allegations

The national TV of Sri Lanka accused Sri Lankan vice-captain and batsman Mahela Jayawardene of fixing the World Cup match against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka had lost the match against Pakistan by 11 runs and after the defeat ITN TV accused Jayawardene of fixing the match. Referring to a news paper’s report, the channel said that the batsman deliberately performed bad in the match.According to a British news network, Jayawardene is planning to sue the channel and he was consulting his lawyer in this regard.
