McCullum batted for six hours Sunday, providing the majority of runs in a 161-run partnership with Tim McIntosh (51) for the first wicket and 86 for the second with B. J. Watling (24). His innings on Sunday followed his 225 against India in the second test at Hyderabad on Nov. 16.The New Zealand XI was effectively a shadow test side, composed of many of the players who will meet Pakistan in the first test at Hamilton from Jan. 7.
