Manager says the injury is not serious, but it can jeopardise Kompany's chances of playing.

LONDON (AFP) - Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany will miss his side s Premier League trip to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday with a calf injury, manager Manuel Pellegrini revealed on Friday.

The Belgian centre-back took a blow to the leg during his side s 2-1 loss at home to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Pellegrini said the injury was not serious, but it could jeopardise Kompany s chances of playing in Belgium s European Championship qualifying match at home to Wales on November 16.

"It is not serious, but I don t know if he will be ready for his international squad," the Chilean told a press conference.

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is ready to return after a thigh injury, but Spanish playmaker David Silva (knee) and Serbian left-back Aleksandar Kolarov (calf) remain sidelined.
