Pak parachuting team to participate Championship in China
Pakistani contingent that will take part in Sichuan championship is led by Lt Col Asif Zaman.
BEIJING (Online) - A 7-member Pakistan s parachuting team has reached China to participate 37th World Military Parachuting Championship in an international parachuting event.
Details said championship is being held in Qionglai, Sichuan province, Pakistani contingent is led by Lt. Col Asif Zaman, the Pakistani group will compete in Accuracy and Style events.
The championship is organized by the People s Liberation Army air force and co-sponsored by Sichuan local governments, the Championship runs from Oct 14 to 25.
Besides, Pakistan a total of 370 competitors from 31 countries such as China, United Arab Emirates, France, Indonesia, Netherlands, Russia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Chad, Czech Republic, Zimbabwe and Australia are participating the China Daily quoted Shen Jinke, an information officer with the PLA air force.
It is the first time the World Military Parachuting Championship, which is one of the 26 sporting events of the International Military Sports Council, is being held in China.
Motto of this championship is friendship through sport, aiming at promoting various military sports and developing friendship among armed forces of member countries.
