BERLIN (AP) - Stuttgart routed Hoffenheim 6-2 in Thomas Schneider s first Bundesliga game in charge Sunday, with Vedad Ibisevic claiming a hat trick against his former club.
Alexandru Maxim set up Antonio Ruediger s opening score in the 12th minute and delivered a corner for Ibisevic s first seven minutes later.
Kevin Volland pulled one back in the 26th, but Maxim capitalized on a mistake from Hoffenheim keeper Koen Casteels to score two minutes later.
Then Ibisevic shrugged David Abraham off the ball and rounded Casteels two minutes after the break.
Maxim capped a fine performance with his second in the 55th, before Ibisevic completed his hat trick in the 63rd.
Roberto Firmino claimed am 87th-minute consolation for Hoffenheim.
Stuttgart sacked Schneider s predecessor, Bruno Labbadia, on Monday after the side started the league with three straight defeats.
