Senior police officials to probe PIC medicine scam

A team of senior police officials will investigate Punjab Institute of Cardiology drug scandal.

The investigation team comprises DIG Zulfiqar Cheema, DIG Mazhar Abbas and SSP Zulfiqar Hameed will probe into Punjab Institute of Cardiology scam, in which more than 100 people have died due to the reaction of medicines. The investigation team members also held a meeting with FIA director Waqar Haider at the FIA Headquarters. The investigating team also requested for a copy of statements of detained pharmaceutical companys owners.Director FIA informed that he sought help from Punjab government but failed to get any respose. The meeting beteen FIA and police officials lasted for an hour.
