Crew of MV Albedo to be released soon: Abad

The families of persons kidnapped by Somali pirates have appealed to Sindh governor for help.

In a meeting with Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Abad, the families of the hostage appealed for the release of their beloved ones.MV Albedo was hijacked ten months ago by Somali pirates. The crew of the ship consists of 23 individuals including 7 Pakistanis, 7 Sri Lankans, 5 Bangladeshis, 2 Indians and one Iranian.They said that pirates were demanding $8 million for the release of the crew, adding that they were waiting for help. The urged the federal, provincial governments and NGOs to help them.Wife of Captain Javaid told the media that the governor had assured them for early release of hostages. On the other hand, CPLC chief said that the kidnappers had extended deadline of negotiates for one week.
