Karachi: SC reserves Karachi killings suo moto case verdict

The court says everything will be finished if anyone tries to bundle off the courts.

A Supreme Court larger bench reserved its verdict on the Karachi target killing suo moto case and adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said, during the hearing at the Karachi registry of Supreme Court, that Eidul Azha was approaching and people would also be killed on the matter of collecting the skins of sacrificial animals.The chief justice ordered the Sindh advocate general to legislate against collection of skins by unauthorised people.The court directed the additional inspector general of police to submit a report to the court after being verified by deputy inspectors general of police whether extortion was controlled or not in various areas of the city.The counsel for the federation Babar Awan said that all institution, including parliament, were operating in the country.Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani commented that institutions were working across the country except in Karachi.The chief justice asked Awan whether there was peace in Karachi and what action was taken against the killing of 1,300 people. He said that the government should learn from the resignations given in India on unconstitutional acts.The court directed the Sindh advocate general to submit the detail of extortion cases registered after August 24.The chief justice said that there was a solution of every issue in the constitution.
