Electricity shortfall above 3,300MW

Power shortfall has climbed to 3,300 MW as no new addition could be made to the national grid.

According to PEPCO spokesman, the total power generation stands at 13,782 MW against the demand of 16,997 MW, leaving a gap of 3,300 MW. This has led to load shedding up to 6-8 hours in cities and 10-12 hours in rural areas of the country.
