President chairs meeting on Karachi situation; no criminal to be spared

A high level meeting on law and order situation in Karachi held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

President Asif Ali Zardari was in chair and reiterated that no criminal would be spared regardless of political affiliation, if any.One the other hand, the committee formed by the President comprising Governor, Chief Minister and Home Minister Sindh decided to take action against the miscreants at Governor House.The meeting decided that Sindh government will approach the government of Balochistan for working out arrangements to allow pursuit by the Sindh police of gangsters, and criminals fleeing from Karachi besides stepping up surveillance of the routes leading to Karachi to keep an eye on the criminal elements and illegal movement of weapons.The Spokesperson said the meeting also decided to beef up intelligence network in Karachi to provide real time information to the police to apprehend culprits planning criminal activities.The meeting was also briefed about the loss caused by flood and endeavours taken for the assistance and restoration particularly in Badin, Tando Allahyar and many other areas of the province.On the other hand, session of committee comprising Governor, Chief Minister and Home Minister Sindh was held at the Governor House in which law and order situation was reviewed. The committee also decided to take action miscreants regardless of their affiliation with any group or political party.
