2009 GHQ attack: Military court convicts 7

A military court convicted seven accused for the 2009 General Headquarters (GHQ) attack.

A former soldier Aqeel alias Dr Usman was sentenced to death, while other ex-armyman Imran Siddiq was given life imprisonment. Three civilians, Khaliqur Rehman, Muhammad Usman, Wajid Ali, were awarded life imprisonment while Muhammad Adnan and Tahir Shafiq were handed over 7 years jail sentence.The military court has found seven men guilty of involvement in October 2009 siege of General Headquarters in Rawalpindi which lasted for 22 hours and left nine militants and 14 others dead.
