NAB approves closure of probe into corruption case against Chaudhry Pervez Elahi
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Executive Board meeting chaired by Chairman NAB has approved to close the investigation of corruption case against Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
The statement said that the NAB Executive Board has approved the filing of seven corruption references. The meeting approved to close the investigation of corruption case against PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
The meeting approved the reference against former project directors Sher Zaman Khan, Muhammad Naeem Baloch and Abdul Hameed Mengal among others. In addition, the National Accountability Bureau approved six investigations.
The statement said that references against former DHO Nowshera Arshad Khan, Dr Tariq Khan and others while investigation against Sardar Ashiq Hussain Khan, Secretary Utilization Aftab Ahmed Khan and former Acting IG Sindh Ghulam Shabbir were also approved.
In addition, the National Accountability Bureau Executive Board approved three inquiries. Inquiry against Abdullah Venus, COO Al Kabir Town Pvt. Ltd. and IG Punjab has been approved.
A statement issued by Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said that the national body does not belong to any political party, group or individual. The NAB belongs only to the state of Pakistan.
He directed that steps be taken as per law to arrest the fugitives and notorious accused. Corrupt elements should be brought to justice, where the law will make its own way.
