Immigrants are Pakistan's biggest assets: PM Imran

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Friday has said that immigrants are biggest assets of Pakistan as they can have positive impact on country’s economy.

While addressing the ceremony after inaugurating N-Ovative Health Technology Facility at National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad, the premier has appreciated the efforts of NUST for preparing cardiac stents in Pakistan and said that it has provided an opportunity to carry out free medical treatment of the poverty-stricken people.

PM Imran said that we are lacking mutual cooperation among our departments due to which, Pakistan is facing different crises. We are forced to seek assistance from International Monetary Fund (IMF) due to shortage of dollars and rupee depreciation in the country, he told.

The premier said that China is developing day-by-day because of its enhanced export system. Real development of the country is not possible without enhancing exports, and the PTI government has set the direction right to focus on exports instead of imports, he added.

Giving assurance of full support to higher education, the PM said the government will promote knowledge economy. He also urged the youth to have their visions and work hard to realize their potential.

Earlier addressing the ceremony, Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said Pakistan is heading from import based economy to manufacturing based economy under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister.

He said Pakistan is advancing towards self-reliance under the visionary leadership of Prime Minster Imran Khan. He said the future of Pakistan is attached with education and technology.

The minister said linkage among defence, academia and industry is of vital importance to achieve the goal of the country s development.

He said N-Ovative Health Technology facility is an important milestone in the field of health.
