Religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Naeem laid to rest in Karachi

Mufti Naeem has been laid to rest alongside his father.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Superintendent of Jamia Binoria Al-Aalmia and famous religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Naeem has been laid to rest in Karachi on Sunday.

The famous cleric had died of a heart attack on Saturday while on the way to hospital. Mufti Naeem had reportedly been ill for the past several days.

Mufti Naeem has been laid to rest alongside his father.

A large number of Mufti Naeem’s people including his students and scholars attended the funeral prayers. Roads around madrassa had been temporarily closed to traffic for the funeral prayers.

Mufti Naeem was also a member of executive committee of Wafaqul Madaris alArabia (WMA) – the largest grouping of seminaries in the country.

Mufti Naeem was also a member of the executive committee of Wafaqul Madaris al-Arabia.

Born in 1958, Naeem was the founder, and the chancellor of the International Binoria Islamic University Karachi, which enrolls over 5,000 students, including hundreds from abroad.

Condolences

President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed their deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Mufti Naeem.

The prime minister, in his condolence message, prayed for the high ranks in Jannah for the departed soul and expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family.

On the other hand, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail had expressed sorrow over his demise, offering condolences to his family and praying for his forgiveness.

He said that Mufti Naeem spent his entire life teaching Islam and made Jamia Binoria a world-class institution with the number of its foreign students in the thousands. He siad that Mufti Naeem s loss will be felt for a long time.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also expressed grief and prayed for his forgiveness. He said that Mufti Naeem was a man of immaculate personality, and supported the government in every difficult hour.
