Pakistan reports six deaths as number of coronavirus cases surge to 875
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan on Monday has reported six deaths from novel coronavirus while the total number of cases have surged to 875 as 394 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Sindh, 110 in Balochistan, 246 in Punjab, 38 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 71 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 15 in Islamabad and one in Azad Kashmir.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday imposed partial lockdown throughout the province for the next 14 days in order to control the spread of the virus as number of confirmed cases surged to 246 in the province.
He appealed the masses to cooperate with the police, army and law-enforcement agencies, adding that pillion riding has also been banned although families will be exempted.
Pak Army called in across country to combat coronavirus
The federal government on Monday called in the Pakistan Army to help in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, the federal government deployed the Pakistan army across Pakistan under Article 245 of the Constitution.
Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani tests positive
The provincial minister shared a video message on Twitter, saying he had gotten his test done a day earlier which turned out to be positive.

Sindh and GB impose lockdowns as number of cases rise
Sindh government has imposed lockdown in the province from after the number of coronavirus cases surged to 394.
According to details, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that during the lockdown, grocery and medical stores would remain open.
Following the footsteps of Sindh government, Gilgit-Baltistan government has also imposed lockdown in the province in wake of the spread of coronavirus pandemic as region’s tally rises to 71.
Addressing a press conference in Chitral on Sunday, Gilgit-Baltistan Law Minister Aurangzeb Khan said that the province will be locked down from midnight (tonight) for an indefinite period.
First Pakistani doctor dies of coronavirus as total death toll rises to six
A Pakistani doctor who screened suspected coronavirus patients died on Sunday after testing positive for the virus.
Dr Osama Riaz, who was screening pilgrims who had returned to Pakistan from Iran, tested positive on Friday.
Section 144 imposed in Islamabad to curb coronavirus outbreak
The local administration has imposed Section 144 in federal capital in a bid to curb the spread of the pandemic coronavirus on the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The order said that all restaurants and food outlets, coffee shops and cafes shall remain closed at all time, however, the delivery and take away will remain functional.
