Gas pipeline blown up in Kandhkot

Some unidentified miscreants blew up a 16-inch diametre gas pipeline with explosives.

According to reports, the pipeline carrying gas supplying from Kandhkot Gas Field to Guddu Power House was blown up near Kandhkot. Fire erupted at the site of the explosion which also engulfed the nearby high voltage electricity cables, resulting in suspension of electricity to a large area.Police and Rangers have cordoned off the area after the incident and barred people from going near the site. The intensity of the fire was so severe that even fire brigade workers were not able to go near the site. Gas supply to the Guddu Power House has been suspended after the blast.
