Hot and dry weather to persist for next 24 hours: Met Office

Plain areas of the country are in the grip of very hot weather as mercury reaches 48 in Larkana.

Hot and dry weather was recorded in most parts of the country in the past 24 hours while some parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Rawalpindi, Malakand and Rawalpindi divisions received rain with strong winds. Temperature in Nawabshah and Moenjodaro reached 47 degree Celsius. In Sukkur the temperature was 46, while it was 41 degree Celsius in Lahore, 38 in Peshawar and 37 in Rawalpindi. The Meteorological Department has forecast hot and dry weather for the next 24 hours.
