$2.1m arranged to secure release of Pakistani hostages

A strategy is being developed to pay the ransom money.

The families of the hostages called on Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad along with social worker Ansar Barni and discussed the release of Pakistani hostages from the custody of Somali pirates.Later, talking to the media, Burni said that the ransom money had been arranged, adding that Pakistan provided $ 0.6m, Sri Lanka and Egypt $1m and India $ 0.5 for the purpose.Burrni also talked to the pirates through Capt Wasi and asked them to extend their deadline for a week.
