Mrs White, the wife of the US Ambassador to Pakistan, said that the US encourages valiant women.

Addressing a ceremony at a private collage in Islamabad, Mrs White hoped that in the rural areas of Pakistan special emphasis would be given to the education of girls. She said that the girls living in poverty-stricken areas should be given opportunities for grooming themselves. Children Global Network Chairperson Mehnaz Rafi told the audience at the ceremony that some 8,000 teachers in 395 schools were working for her organisation under the US educational programme.
