President confers civil, military awards on 130 personalities

President Asif Ali Zardari conferred civil and military awards on 130 dignitaries at a ceremony held at the Presidency on Wednesday. The awards were given to men and women who rendered meritorious services for Pakistan in their respective fields of activity.Nishan-e-Imtiaz was conferred on Mian Raza Rabbani, Wasim Sajjad, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf Syed Navid Qamar, SM Zafar, Farooq Sattar, Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi and Afrasiab Khattak while Hilal-e-Shujaat was bestowed on Safwat Ghayur Shaheed, Bashir Ahmed Bilour and Shahbaz Bhatti. Hilal-e-Imtiaz was conferred on Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Syed Fasih Iqbal, Najam Sethi, Hameed Haroon and Abbas Athar.President’s Award for Pride of Performance was conferred on Sohail Ahmed, popularly known as Azizi, who regularly appears in Dunya News programme Hasb-e Haal.
