The legal counsels of Sharif family are cross-examining prosecution witness and head of Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Wajid Zia.

Nawaz Sharif’s legal counsel Khawaja Haris—during cross-examination—questioned Wajid Zia whether he had presented any such evidence which proved Nawaz Sharif as beneficial owner of Avenfield properties. To this, Wajid replied that neither they (Panamagate JIT) had any such document nor submitted any evidence which might prove Nawaz Sharif as benifical owner of Avenfield properties.

Kh Haris further inquired that whether Radley Forensic Document Laboratory gave any such information that Nawaz Sharif was beneficial owner of Nielsen and Nescoll offshore companies. To this, Wajid Zia responded that Radely Forensic is private but a registered firm. Zia said, “We (JIT team) had not done any direct correspondence with the firm”.

It is pertinent here to mention that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed three graft references against Sharif family on directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).
