The hearing was adjourned till March-28.

(Dunya News) – Prosecution witness and head of Panama Papers Case Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Wajid Zia on Tuesday informed accountability court that Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz submitted counterfeit trust deeds.

He made these remarks while recording statements before accountability court in Avenfield Flats reference case.

Zia told court that JIT had forwarded Nielsen and Nescoll offshore companies’ trust deeds for forensic examination to Radley Forensic Document Laboratory, a UK-based company.

Zia continued that the company—after thoroughly examining the documents—crafted report stating that documents submitted by Sharif family were fake.

Zia further added that the report stated Sharif family had tampered with the papers by altering date from 2004 to 2006. He claimed that accused confessed to have possession of flats in 1990s, when Hussain was a student.

Maryam’s counsel opposed National Accountability Court’s (NAB) request to make letters written to the JIT last year by Qatari royal Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani and the British Virgin Islands, as evidence in the case. However, court dismissed Maryam counsel’s concerns and accepted aforementioned documents as evidence in the case.

Later the hearing was adjourned till March-28.

NAB has filed three graft references against Sharif family on directives of apex court which include Avenfield Flats reference, Flagship reference and Al-Azizia company reference.
